Become a Kid Reporter


  • As a Kid Reporter at the Geffen, you'll get the inside scoop on the Saturday Scene 2010-11 season! We will choose a Kid Reporter, aged 6 years or older, for each upcoming Saturday Scene production at the Geffen Playhouse.

    Each Kid Reporter will enjoy a fun filled day that includes:

  • Four free prime seats for the performance

  • A pre-show Meet & Greet with a member from the cast or artistic team

  • Their name announced as reporter for the day during the pre-show announcement

  • A Saturday Scene t-shirt

  • Special "Press Pass" for them to wear and have as a keepsake

  • Their photo taken pre-show when they check-in.

What does a Kid Reporter Do?

The Kid Reporter should come prepared with questions about the play, the performers, or whatever you would like to know (It’s OK to ask Mom or Dad for help thinking of these questions)!

What Happens Next?

After the Kid Reporter submits his or her written report, these answers will then be "lightly edited" and published along with their photo in the following Geffen Playhouse Saturday Scene playbill.  In addition, a video of the interview will be posted on the Geffen Playhouse website.  Parent will be required to sign a photo/video waiver.

Reporters will be randomly selected for each show. You may enter more than one child and need only sign up once for the season, as names will be stored for the entire 2010-11 Saturday Scene Season. Please be sure to send us all the information requested or you won't be eligible to become a Kid Reporter.

  • Child's name
  • Child's age
  • Parent or guardian's name
  • Phone number

Note that for safety, no last names will be used, just a first name and age. This program does not provide any transportation to or from Los Angeles or the theater. The Geffen Playhouse is not responsible for any expenses incurred as a result of accepting this Kid Reporter position.
