OF PERFORMANCES AT THE GEFFEN PLAYHOUSE

 

Last Call for Carrie FisherŐs One-Woman Show is Sunday, January 14, 2007

 

November 7—January 14, 2007

 

LOS ANGELES, November 27, 2006 — The Geffen Playhouse announced today a two- week extension of performances in January 2007 for the popular Wishful Drinking, a one-woman show penned and performed by Carrie Fisher and directed by Joshua Ravetch.  Staging her lifeŐs experiences in the World Premiere spotlight of the Geffen Playhouse, Fisher narrates the episodes of her chaotic life with brutal honesty and banter: from her unusual childhood as the daughter of Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher to her involvement with a little movie called Star Wars¨, from her marriage to Paul Simon to the successes of her novels and screenplays, from her struggles with substance abuse and mental illness to the bliss of being a motherÉto a teenager.

 

The extended January 2007 dates include January 4 at 7:30 p.m., January 5 at 8 p.m., January 6 at 4 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., January 7 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., January 9 at 7:30 p.m., January 11 at 7:30 p.m., January 12 at 8 p.m., January 13 at 4 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. and finally on January 14 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. (closing performance).  The final December performance is Saturday, December 23 at 8:30 p.m. before breaking for the Christmas and New YearŐs Holidays.
